Andile Dyalvane spoke about using his work to bring about spiritual repair as part of the “Healing Through Design” talk at Design Miami/ 2023.
Moderated by 2023 Design Miami/ Curatorial Director Anna Carnick, the panel discussion set out to spotlight outstanding creatives whose practices harness the power of design to heal: to reclaim space, resist divisive forces, honour heritage, and nurture hope and community. Finding inspiration and even material source from their immediate
environments – at times the very land beneath their feet – these creatives embrace design as a tool both to transform and to empower.
Fellow panelists included Ukrainian architect, designer and artist Victoria Yakusha, as well as Nigerian designer Nifemi Marcus-Bello.
