The presentation is an investigation and celebration of the beautiful complexities of nature, and the deep spiritual connections to ancestral land and heritage.

Southern Guild is currently partnering with Singita Art Gallery and several other leading South African galleries and artists in a collaborative exhibition titled And My Name Was Written In The Earth. The presentation, curated by Kimberley Cunningham of Cunningham Contemporary, is the final installation for 2022 and is an investigation and celebration of the beautiful complexities of nature, and the deep spiritual connections to ancestral land and heritage. As a proposed awakening of the senses, the show acts as a spiritual vessel through which to commemorate and heal.

Southern Guild artists featured include ceramicists Andile Dyalvane, Chuma Maweni and Madoda Fani, artist blacksmith Conrad Hicks, multidisciplinary artist Nandipha Mntambo, sculptors Stanislaw Trzebinski and Patrick Bongoy, and woodworker Rodney Band.
The exhibition is running until February 2023 at Singita Sabi Sand.

With guests yearning for even more meaningful connections, Singita has launched an extensive expansion in its African art offering, allowing collectors to contribute significantly towards the empowerment and development of the continent’s talent. Singita’s newly imagined gallery spaces, a project that was piloted at Singita Sabi Sand, and recently extended to Singita Kruger National Park, serve to showcase and elevate African excellence, as well as champion the artistic skill from the African continent.
