          Southern Guild’s booth at the 2022 Investec Cape Town Art Fair explores the confluence of fine art and collectible design at a pivotal moment in the gallery’s trajectory, as it broadens its curatorial programme and expands its artist stable.

          Southern Guild returns to the Investec Cape Town Art Fair with an extensive presentation of paintings, ceramics, sculpture, functional art and the gallery’s first NFT work. Among the artists shown are Navel Seakamela, Patrick Bongoy and Jozua Gerrard, all newly represented by the gallery, as well as Nandipha Mntambo, whose first solo at the gallery, Transcending Instinct, coincides with the fair. Also launching are several new and significant ceramic artworks by Andile Dyalvane, Zizipho Poswa, Madoda Fani and Chuma Maweni, as well as works by Dominique Zinkpé, Rich Mnisi, Otto du Plessis, Stanislaw Trzebinski, Jesse Ede and Sisonke Papu. Justine Mahoney unveils a new bronze sculpture and NFT based on the French mythological figure Mélusine, a female water spirit who is half serpent or fish.
